The Smash Brothers

In 2001 Nintendo released a game for their current game console, the Gamecube, by the name of Super Smash Bros Melee. It was made with the intention of being a fun party game, but it grew to much more than that. Over time, a competitive scene formed around this "party" game. Many players at some point in time held the title of "The best." These are their stories.

This is the basic plot of the 2013 documentary based on the competitive scene of Super Smash Bros Melee. I discovered this documentary around 2015, and I adored it then and I adore it today. It is wonderfully written, filmed, and edited. It covers so much information that is both accesible to new and old players of the game. It talks about the original Smash tournaments, the players, and some of the advanced techniques that were discovered. I am a big fan of Super Smash Bros, so I enjoyed this a lot, but my dad, who has never played the game, watched some of it and enjoyed it too.

If you are a fan of the games or documentaries, I highly recommend checking out The Smash Brothers.
